My Stomach is Churning! |
According to The Quilter's Block Bible by Celia Eddy the Churn Dash block is one of the oldest and most popular of traditional blocks. She states that "Barbara Brackman lists as many as 18 different names for it, although Churn Dash seems to be the most popular. Alternatives include Broken Plate, Double Monkey Wrench, Fisherman's Reel, Hole in the Barn Door, and Indian Hammer."

My version is named after the feeling that most assuredly grabs every quilter in the pit of the stomach when she realizes that she pieced that one rail block the wrong way. Not to worry though, our quilt will be fantastic!
